What affiliate links are
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays me a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same — in most cases the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your wallet.
How you can tell
Any post containing affiliate links carries a clear disclosure near the top of the article, before the links appear — wording like “this post contains affiliate links” or “some links in this post are affiliate links.” Product picks within roundups are labeled as affiliate links or as a shopping link. You will never have to hunt for it at the bottom of the page.
Where commissions come from
Commissions may come from clothing, footwear and accessory retailers, hair care and color brands, styling tools, nail products, beauty retailers and marketplaces. The specific programs in use change over time as partnerships are added and dropped.
What commissions do not affect
- Whether a product is included at all. A product being available on an affiliate network is never a reason to feature it.
- What I say about it. Recommendations, pros, cons and “skip this one” notes are written before any commission is considered.
- Order of appearance. Ranking reflects fit and usefulness, not payout rate.
If something isn’t worth buying, I’d rather leave it out than earn on it. And where a product I recommend has no affiliate program at all, I still link to it.
Your choice
There’s no obligation to use any link. If you’d rather not, search the product name directly — nothing on this site is behind a paywall, and every recommendation is available to you for free either way. If you do use a link, thank you: it covers the cost of running this site and keeps it independent.
